Mitchell is a partner and the managing attorney of the firm. He has
practiced law for 15 years, with an emphasis on intellectual property, corporate transactions and finance and
commercial real estate.
Mr. Mitchell assists clients in protecting their intellectual property through the filing and prosecution of both patent and trademark applications. He manages a sizable trademark prosecution portfolio, and also participates in the drafting and prosecuting of patent applications, particularly in the fields of mechanical inventions and biomedical devices. He enforces clients' intellectual property rights through litigation in state and federal court, through proceedings in front of the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and through other dispute resolution forms.
Mr. Mitchell has also
represented large and small clients in many general corporate,
corporate finance and merger and acquisition transactions. He is
experienced in helping new businesses to incorporate and seek angel
and venture capital investment. He has represented both sellers and
buyers in merger and acquisition transactions, and has extensive
experience in drafting and negotiating documentation for sales
transactions, loans and equity investments. Mr. Mitchell has acted as
counsel in over thirty merger and acquisition transactions ranging in
value from $300,000 to over $200 million.
Mr. Mitchell has extensive experience in commercial real estate transactions and finance. He has acted as counsel in scores of real estate finance transactions, including acquisition loans, construction loans, mezzanine loans and equity investments. He has represented multiple Delegated Underwriting Servicer lenders in closing over 60 Fannie Mae multifamily property loans. He has also represented securitized loan services in closing many assumption, modification and defeasance transactions, and has represented both buyers and sellers in the purchase and sale of commercial real property.
